Has Your Faith Made You Well?

Hey everyone! I’m back and it feels so good to be able to come on here again and write out all that God has laid on my heart. I’m sorry it has been such a long time, but I had to make sure that I was taking care of my school work along with all of the speaking engagements that I have been able to be a part of. But we bless God, because He has sustained me, been my Provider, my Shield, and my Strength. There is no one like Him in heaven or on earth so wherever you are, give Him a shout of praise and worship. For He is more than worthy.

Today’s post is going to be relatively short, but I want to ask you all, has your faith made you well? If you are not familiar with Scripture, this question may seem a bit odd and it might not make an ounce of sense. But that's okay because the Gospel doesn't make any sense! I want you to take a look at this verse about a woman who had a sickness (a flow of blood) that lasted for 12 years:

Mark 5:25-34 Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, (26) and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spend all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. (27) When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. (28) For she said, "If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well." (29) Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. (30) And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, "Who touched My clothes?" (31) But His disciples said to Him, "You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, 'Who touched Me?'" (32) And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. (33) But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. (34) And He said to her "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction."

I want you all to notice a few things about this woman:

  1. She had suffered many things from many physicians.

  2. She had spent all that she had

  3. She was no better, but grew worse

  4. She got desperate for Jesus knowing that it was Him who could heal her

  5. Her faith in Jesus made her well

This is one of my favorite passages because I can relate to this woman in so many ways. For years I suffered from many things such as anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts. I had spent all that I had by seeking out alcohol, relationships, food, and acceptance from others but I was no better, but only grew worse. It was only when I had hit what I consider rock bottom in December of 2018 that my mother gifted me with the best gift that she has ever given me, a Holy Bible. She said something along the lines of, “It’s time to start living.” She’d never been more right. It was New Years Eve that I had decided to take the entire year of 2019 to read the entire Bible from Genesis all the way to Revelation. When God said, “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” in Jeremiah 29:13-14, He was not lying. All of 2019 the Lord worked on me and increased my faith in ways that words cannot even express. In April of 2020, my lackadaisical prayers became desperate pleas for the One who I knew could heal me as I cried out to my God during a really difficult time. In the middle of a Walmart parking lot He met me where I was. And here I am now, a living testimony of His abundant grace and mercy. My faith in Jesus has made me well. The chains of depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts have loosed their grips from me. In the mighty name of the King of kings, the Lord of lords, the Alpha and the Omega, the Name above all names, Jesus Christ, I am set free. My faith has made me well. I have been made whole.

My brothers and sisters, oh taste and see that the Lord is good. Get to know Him for yourself. Your life depends upon it. God loves you more than you could ever know. Get desperate for the One who has numbered the very hairs on your head. Get desperate for Jesus and watch as your faith in Him makes you well.

Amen and amen.
