I'm stepping on serpents and scorpions today!

Fear used to cripple me. It had weaved its way into my DNA, and became the blueprint of who I was. It had taken the driver’s seat, as I submissibly sat as a passenger, waiting for it to bring me to my next destination: Anxiety. So we parked here for a while, conversed, discussed what my next move would be, and moved accordingly. We swiftly reached our next destination: Depression. This one was a beast. What little hope I had, Depression had viciously devoured. As they consipired against their host, Depression and Anxiety became the best of friends, until they conceived and gave birth to thoughts of suicide. “Did God really say, ‘Fear not?’” “Surely, He will not deliver you from the snare of the fowler.” Depression drowned me in these words, proudly watching as I looked up to the sky gasping for air. But Depression did not consider the birds of the air, how they neither sow nor reap, nor gather into barns, and yet, the Great I AM feeds them. Depression must have forgotten that I am of more value than they. “Did God really say, ‘Be not dismayed?’”, Anxiety screamed, as it forced my head towards the grass on the ground, watching me helplessly attempt to lift my chin up. But Anxiety had forgotten how God clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, and how much more my Father in heaven will clothe me. “Surely, the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will not guard your heart and mind through Christ Jesus,” Fear whispered into my ear, as it knocked me to my knees. But fear must have forgotten that this is the posture that everyone will take when my King returns. Fear, you were just preparing me to do the like.

Fear, you must have forgotten that my God has made me the head and not the tail. You must have forgotten Who is on the inside of me. Fear, your time is up.

I want to encourage you all to STEP ON THE SERPENT AND STOMP ON THAT SCORPION. Don’t tell fear who you are, but tell fear WHOSE you are. Take up that shield of faith and quench those fiery darts. Arm your heart with the sword of the Spirit by hiding the Word of God in it. The Lord will go before you. The Lord will fight for you.

I’m treading on serpents and scorpions today, and I encourage you all to do the same.

Love you all.

Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven."

-King Jesus
